Okay moms I really need some help. My daughter has gotten to where she won’t sleep unless someone is holding her. I hate sleeping with her because it scares me so I try to keep her in her bassinet or mama roo. My mom (her grandma) was keeping her for me at night and I didn’t know until today when I asked her but she had been letting Shelby sleep with her instead of putting her in the bassinet. Now when I try to put Shelby down to sleep she’ll just cry and cry until I pick her up and hold her. How can I break her from this? Will I have to just let her cry it out?

My son use to do the same thing. She’s only 3 weeks old. She needs the warmth of our bodies to make her comfortable. Plus your heartbeat gives her comfort as well. The world is still scary to babies that little. If you really want to get her to sleep in her own space what I did was swaddled him rocked my son to sleep and then laid him in his bassinet.

Try waiting until she's in a deep sleep and lay her down swaddled. You can take the swaddle sac and put it in your shirt for a little while before hand so it smells like you.

Try to swaddle her, put one of your clothes near her, turn on "white noise":vacuum cleaner, running water, heart beating etc.
