my son is one on the 26th so we decided to quit giving him bottles and formula so now he’s just eating real food and drinking milk from a sippy. people keep saying to me i’m making him grow up too fast and he can still have a bottle and it makes me feel bad but he honestly hasn’t cared and loves eating real food anyways. 😭

We always take the bottle away completely the day after their first birthday, but they lose interest in it around 10 months. You do what’s best for your baby!!

You’re doing the right thing! I didn’t take the bottle away from my second, because he was so attached to it. He had surgery in August and got 6 crowns and 2 fillings. It’s always best to ditch the bottle ASAP!

My daughter got off the paci at 7 month's unfortunately she's 18 months and won't take a sippy for the milk you got lucky

Its what you feel is best. My boy is 2 snd getting rid of the bottle is tough. Ur only gets it with milk 2x a day bc he wont drink it out of his sippy.

You are doing great!! Dont let anyone else tell you other wise. You know your son best. It's your decision. When my youngest son was around 9 months old, I was breastfeeding him and he bit my nipple so hard it drew blood. I tried latching him on again on the other boob (after crying for a good 10 minutes because it hurt so much) and he tried biting me again. I put him down and told him he hurt mommy. He did good the next couple days then he bit me again, this time almost taking my nipple off. I was heart broken to make the decision to start formula and stop breastfeeding but I was done being bit. When I told the nutritionist at WIC what had happened, she was very judgemental and told me that I should keep trying and not give up. I looked at her and asked her if she has been bit before. I told her it is my decision and that he is my son. I have 4 kids. And when people tell me thing like "they should be doing this" or "you should be doing that" I tell them thanks for their opinion but it's my child. I will raise them as I see fit. Period.

I did the same thing. Once my daughter turned 1 I took the bottle and transferred her to the sippy cup! She never tooked a paci so that helped alot. Never went back. It was so much easier. I see kids her age still with a bottle, I don’t judge but everyone js different. Do you momma !

i feel the same i don’t care if other babies have the bottle still it’s just i knew he’d be easy to give it up

yeah, what helped me more was throwing away all the bottles and just keep one ( just in case ) but spoke to my husband about not using it unless she wasn’t accepting the sippy cup at all. Luckily she accepted it right away and got rid of the last bottle two days laters.
