Okay so I found the house, paid for it ,and painted the majority of it myself. Scrubbed the old place from top to bottom all by myself. Clean the new place myself, mind you we more than doubled the space. Have been doing all the yard work myself. I’ve made sure dinner was still on the table every night, even if I was so busy that it was door dash or something from a Trader Joe’s package. Found and paid for all the new furniture, even drove hubby around after work so he could see it before I bought it. Been planning Christmas dinner for 10 people, bought the food myself and only have help cooking Christmas morning because my husband cooking is a lost cause. Bought and paid for all the Christmas gifts myself, been wrapping and hiding them myself. Have to ship a box off to my Dad and siblings by Thursday because if I don’t, they won’t have any gifts. I got the clothes together, packed up for the hotel for all of us for the family picture on Hubby’s side of the family this weekend. I feel like I don’t stop, yet my husband works 4/10 hour shifts a week and gets to rest a lot more than I do because I make sure of it. I woke up with a headache. I’m not going to complain, I just need some self love to thrive and yes it is that simple.
So if I want to take the morning off to sleep in, wake and bake, enjoy some healthy energizing food, and take a catnap before I begin my day at noon, then I’m going to do that. Why? Because I work just as hard as my husband and contribute just as much financially despite being a stay at home mom. I know I’m capable of working myself so hard trying to make it all work and please everyone that I’ll make myself sick. I’ve already done it once before and have the scar to prove it. My hubby knows better than to say anything to me because I’ll use my words to have his big ass sitting in a corner sucking his thumb. Everything will still get done, dinner will still be on the table and our son will be just fine. I just want 4-6 hours for me today.
We are all entitled to that much...

Sounds like you’re a strong, physically and mentally, loving wife and mama! We all need a little R&R from time to time. What do you do for work as a stay at home mom?

Thank you. I try to be, but I know I can get an attitude so that’s why I do my best to keep up with self love. Self love for me includes scheduled gym time, alone time for errands, and 1-2 mornings like this a month where I put my foot down and don’t do shit for a few hours.
As far as work goes, I’ve done medical billing from home in the past, but now I’m just investing in a real estate project that’s treating me well and gives me the ability to stay at home until my son has a full day of school.

that’s cool! I, like so many SAHMs, am looking for something to do to make money. I teach piano lessons to kids in my home but it’s slow to find students since we just moved.
Keep doing what you’re doing! I love the idea of me time
