This is our first year having actual garbage men...before this we were in an apartment so it was a communal dumpster. So, question: are we supposed to give a holiday tip/gift to the garbage men? Mail carriers also, even though those are always different?

Mm.. we always tipped our mailman, but the man had been delivering our mail for YEARS. Like he used to wave when I was walking home from school. When he retired it was sad.
If you feel like they do a good job, it probably would be a nice holiday surprise for them. But I don’t think you should feel obligated to do so.

Yeah, we always have a small gift to the mailman growing up, but it was always the same man, except when he was sick. I still remember his face, 20 years later 😂 here it's someone different every day.
Our garbage men left us a holiday card in the mailbox. But I don't think I've ever even seen their faces! Hm. I'll try to pick up a few Dunkin gifts cards. If I can catch them I'll give them one.

Growing up we always gave to the mail carrier, but he was our carrier for years, and was such a nice man. Like, he would even wish us happy birthday. One of our neighbors just sent out a warning that someone is going around stealing gifts left for the garbage men, which made me think it was expected?

I only gift the ups guy a gift card. He is they only one who is constant here. We have different mailcarriers constantly because we live out in the sticks lol.
