Does anyone else’s toddlers have night terrors, Florence has just had one, only happened once before, any advice would be great, basically we just held her until she calmed down but clearly she was terrified snd didn’t know where she was. Just some tips on best way to deal with them please. Thanks in advance xxx

My 2 year old cousin has them he doesn't settle but then the next mornings when he's awake and fresh my aunt try's explaining to him about dreams and what they are good/bad etc. A couple of times now that he knows the meaning of dreams he's a little settled. Still gets them but slightly calmer than before

Max's gets them but I still don't have any great advise for you! He won't accept cuddles or anything so I just sit on the floor, try to reassure him it's ok. Then as he calms down he comes over for a cuddle. I've looked tips up online but there's not a great deal you can do whilst their experiencing a night terror as their not completely aware of what's real and what's scaring them while their going through it. It's like Max is possessed when he's going through one. Then once he's passed it he's calm enough for me to calm him down a bit more.

Thank you, yes that’s exactly what we did, it’s awful but I guess it’s just a case of riding it out xx
