Do/did y’all feed your newborn every 3 hours?! He’s on a every 3 hour feeding schedule while in the hospital and they said once we go home I’ll have to set alarms and wake him up and feed him every 3 hours.
my son just turned three months yesterday should I be feeding him every four hours? cause I'm pretty bad about feeding him every time he cries and he always takes the bottle so I'm feeding him like every two hours
Mommies I have a question. My son (6 days old) had a Drs appointment today. She told me I had to feed him every 2 hours instead of 3. The problem is Isaiah only wants to feed on his time (every 3 hours) . I try and wake him up but he just falls right back to sleep. He's been that way since he was born. What do I do?

I didn’t however when I left the hospital they didn’t advise that, especially since my daughter never lost any weight while being in the hospital lol. I went by her cues she’d wake up when she’s hungry, as long as she had good diaper output I wasn’t worried.

I think it depends on baby and weight gain. I had preemies, they needed to eat every 3 hrs. At 4 months their ped wanted me to wake them through the night and I couldn't. They were gaining like they should do I let them sleep, if they would of had trouble I def would have made it work.

I fed all my babies on demand, I did not wake them to eat. I’m not a medical professional though...

I was on an every 2 hour schedule and it was rough. My son was jaundice so it was on medical advice that I do that. We used alarms.
After he was cleared, and the doctors said we could do on demand, he kept up the 2 hour schedule on his own for quite a while. He started sleeping through the night by a month or 2. Then it ended up being feeds every 2-2.5 hours during the day until he was 7 or 8 months old.

We were on a 3 hour schedule but I never would wake to feed. My baby girl was almost 10 lbs when she was born. If she was hungry she would wake up

If you were advised to that then you should. His bilirubin count could be high and eating frequently can help bring it down.

If there isnt any, I would until baby is at or above birth weight.
My baby was above his birth weight by a week old, but he woke up like clock work every 2 hours.
