Best diaper rash treatment? My son has one so bad it's peeling because his antibiotic is giving him endless diarrhea. His doctor had no concern about it yesterday, but it's gotten way worse. Been alternating between aquaphor and bag balm, but it's not helping.

that's why I took him yesterday, in hopes the doctor would. I need to change my son's doctor because the new one in this office is rude and careless

If you can find paladin it works really well. My kids pediatrician says it’s the only kind she uses also.

Boudreaux butt paste is AMAZING. Always did the trick for my daughter's antibiotics induced diaper rash. I would put that on and then put aquaphor over it.

I alternate using badger balm(most natural stores or automotive stores have it And baby powder. Greyson gets the worst rashes when he's on antibiotics and it helps a lot! When it gets to the peaking and really raw I tend to do more baby powder days then cream

THICK BUTT CREAM! I recommend the purple box of design because it's thicker. When my daughter had it really bad the doctor recommended triple paste. It was thick and she said it dried as it went on. I let my baby lay on a towel naked but she wasn't mobile at that time. I know you said he has diarrhea so I know if hes mobile he cant run around without a diaper.

@misspreeminent yeah. He runs all over. Right now he's in underwear until I know he's gonna have diarrhea again. Still don't have the pooping in the potty down. I wish we did so he wouldn't be going through all this pain.

Bare bum as often as possible. I know that's hard with the runs. Get yogurt into him asap. Lots of yogurt when on antibiotics.

Make sure to write down the name of it so next time the can prescribe something different. That happen to my son and it's such a pain because I never remembered what it was called that did that to him 😂

when I told his doctor it was giving him massive diarrhea. His response was "yeah, didn't they tell you it'd do that? Just put some diaper rash cream on him." He didn't care at all.

This works amazingly. When looking for diaper rash cream you want something with zinc oxide in it so it won't rub off on thr diaper

@sleepymommy thanks, I'll definitely look into that if this desitin doesn't help. CVS pharmacist told me to use the maximum strength. Praying it helps, hate my baby being in so much pain

desitin never worked for us it seemed to come ofd easily but this stuff is so sticky it works good and fast

My youngest son had the same situation. No matter the paste or balm we tried his buns just wouldn't improve. So we asked his doctor. He told us to get a tube of lotrimen. This is usually used for athletes foot so I was a bit weirder out by it. But he insured us it was OK. After two weeks of trying multiple things his rash was gone in three days.
Ask his doc about it. May be well worth it

This is the only thing that helped my daughter. Everything else wasn’t doing its job. With this ointment her rash was getting better with every diaper change.

Ask your doctor to prescribe you Nystatin Cream my baby girl pediatrician prescribed it for her and the same day her diaper rash started to clear. I had tried so many things and nothing worked but what the doctor gave me.
