Do any moms do signs with their baby? My DS will be 1 in January, and he says a few things here and there (mainly mama, dada, no, hi); however, I wanna get him started with signs so maybe it'll take a little frustration away for all of us. He has fits every now and then because he wants something, but it takes some trial and error to figure out what it is he wants. I know that's normal, but I've seen a lot of success with using signs, and I figure it can't hurt anything to try. So if anyone has some advice or basic signs, I'd really appreciate it
I sign with my 2.5 year old. It’s been 3 months. He’s speech delayed. We are up to 40 signs now. It has helped tremendously with his frustration and his speech. I learn a lot off of Pinterest and I google signs as well
I can't take it anymore! Haley (yes my 1mth old and no I wasn't able to go through this "joy" of nursing my older daughter, Molly) has been screaming non stop for 6hrs! All she wants to do is eat and I can't have her attached to me all day, everyday! She has wanted to eat every hr on the hr for the past 3hrs! I put her in her room so I don't scream at her but I just can't take it!
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Trigger. Lost baby
Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
Make your own breakfast!
At what age do you think a child should be making their own breakfast? I have a 10 year old and I think he is perfectly capable of making himself breakfast. It doesn't take rocket science to put some waffles into the toaster, or microwave some pancakes. My husband insists that he needs to have breakfast made for him because if we left it up to him he wouldn't eat enough and it would take him forever.
We do signs. We’ve been doing it since he was 6 months old but it wasn’t until he was 8 months old that he actually started to try to repeat them. And by a year old, we had a sign for almost every basic need. I love it. It’s definitely helped us out when we’re not sure what he wants because he can’t verbally say it. We watch Baby Signing Time on YouTube but mainly, we use the signs just in our day to day conversations and that’s how he’s learned. It just takes patience and repetition.
