12/14 days after sex is when you should test. Hcg from your last pregnancy is gone within 3/4 weeks like pp said so if you get a positive it’s probably a new pregnancy

Hcg normally disappears 3-4 weeks after giving birth so if your 5 weeks pp I think you’d be in the clear to test.
