A LONG, POSSIBLY SILLY QUESTION-

A LONG, POSSIBLY SILLY QUESTION-

Okay, so, I was at the hospital for a separate reason last night and as always they put me on the ctg. I noticed I was getting some tightenings and every time the midwife came to look at it she would pull a face and tell me I was being left on the monitor for a bit longer. In the end I was on the monitor for around an hour and having tightenings every 3-4 minutes. Some of them were very uncomfortable and they ranged from about 40-70 on the monitor.

The doctors examined me and agreed that my cervix was still closed and they couldn't see any other signs. I also had a negative fibronectin test. The doctor did say though, that if I go into labour in the next 5 days I'll have to be transferred to another hospital nearly 2 hours away as I'm 35+2.

My question is, does anyone else have any similar experiences to this? Do you find that these regular contractions were slow early labour or just a coincidence? Any input appreciated! 😊

I had something similair to this. I went to hospital at 33 weeks with tightenings and had a positive fibronectin test. I had to stay in hospital for a couple of days and get steroid shots just in case baby decided to come. Contractions slowed right down the next day and stopped the day after.

So i was discharged and didnt go into labour. But did have 2 false alarms after that.

I was induced at 40 weeks xx

It's so weird isn't it! I'm still having them this morning ( less intense but definitely there). I'm glad I'm seeing my midwife tomorrow xx
