12 weeks pregnant have been craving sandwich meat! I know the Listeria issue. But I needed it! I had turkey, pickles, lettuce and mayo. Has anyone else ate sandwich meat while pregnant. (Not heated)
I ended up in the hospital with an IV at 29 weeks, it made me sick and I was dehydrated and starting to have contractions. They don’t tell you things are dangerous just because they want to torture you. 🤷🏼♀️
I did. And still do. I didn’t know about the listeria thing up until middle of my 3rd pregnancy, i never got listeria thank god. I like oven baked sandwiches but not microwaved.
That was all I craved during the first trimester of this pregnancy. I lived on turkey sandwiches, cereal and popsicles. Everything else made me super nauseous
Thank you for telling me. I will keep what happened to you in my mind. What did you eat anf how much of it did you eat? Were you not drinking water? Were you just throwing up? What part of eating the meat made you dehydrated?
I had a half of a turkey and cheese sandwich. When I’m pregnant I’m always thirsty and usually drink almost a gallon of water a day. I was throwing up and having diarrhea. What happens is it makes you so sick to your stomach that you’re losing fluids out both ends. Other people had told me they had done it and were fine so I trusted them and it back fired. I now take every precaution I can.
@whtngregory, I just try to let people know that, it’s not something that never happens, it happened to me and could’ve ended much worse. If I have to be a cautionary tale then so be it.

Freeze it? Then let it thaw out and eat it? I really crave it badly and I'm like I need it and I eat it and then I'm worried because of the warnings. But it makes me feel better others have ate it
