What age can you give your baby food ? My son is 4 month and I give him taste of fruit
We started at 6 months. I wasn’t in a rush, so I wanted to wait.
4 months used to be the recommendation. The new recommendation is 6 months. Definitely discuss it with your child’s doctor.
Most pediatricians recommend 6 months after new research showed it was to be safer at that age.
I can look for some articles if you'd like me to.
This is a controversial topic apparently. You’re going to get a lot of answers. Have you asked your pediatrician? I personally wouldn’t give solids under 6 months.
No i haven’t asked my doc. I am just making him taste food but I am not feeding him to him
@yelitzagarcia70, there’s really no point in having them taste food. It’s mostly for your own pleasure in watching their facial expression. You risk them having an allergic reaction or something. I feel like it’s better to be safe than sorry. I was so worried about introducing solids that I waited until 7 months. You want their gastrointestinal and immune systems to be completely ready because you’ll basically be introducing the external environment into their little body.
@flamingomom, i thought so as well but she said now that I remember if I am giving him food 1 a week
