Hey mommies! Are there any tips on helping your baby get their days and nights straight?
There are definitely things you can do or start doing right now to help with that. Keep lights on and everyday noises going throughout the day and keep lights dim and noises down during the night. But at two weeks, it’s normal to wake up constantly to eat and such. It can be a while before you see long stretches of sleep, even at night. I started doing the things I named though right after both of my babies were born.
No, and even if you do do the things that help her understand the difference she'd still wake up whenever and sleep a ton.
It's never too early to start the steps though. Like when it's day time, keep the blinds open and be chatty when she's sleeping/eating. And at night, keep it dark and be quiet when she sleeps/eats. Over time she will get it but right now she won't since she's so young.
Most babies won’t even begin to understand the concept until 3-4 months. Until then, they sleep whenever they want. There is no night and day, there is just sleep.
Thank you all! I definitely expect her to mostly sleep and wake whenever for feeding and such at this age, just was wondering about things that could help early on.
