My daughters dr won’t give her meds for reflux. Told us to start putting a little rice cereal in her breast milk. I’ve heard it’s a horrible choking hazard & causes horrible horrible constipation! Have any of you mommy’s used it?
They said that studies show that Zantac leads to bigger problems and issues later on in life. But I’ve babysat lots of babies and nephews hat have been on it and they’re all fine!
@saleena, really? That’s crazy my son has absolutely no issues and he no longer even has reflux as of being 1 year old.
My pedi said the same thing for my sons acid reflux, but hes old school. I didnt do it though, I would keep him upright for a half hour and he was propped up a little when he slept.
Go see a GI. That's extremely outdated advice. It's a choking hazard and can create a whole different world of issues. It should only be used when all other methods of treatment have been exhausted. My 4 yr old has extremely severe reflux and is treated by some of the top doctors in the nation. Cereal in a bottle was never on the table.
My doctor had me use rice cereal for both my kids because of reflux. We never had a choking issue and it honestly made a huge difference. They were both less fussy. My daughter did get constipated but my son didn't.
I used it my son was fine didnt choke on it so babies u need alpt some u dont. My sons was pretty thick n never choked. Rice is bad for their bellies no nutrition and messes it up on the inside. Do cereal
@coffee.leggings.target, yes that’s why I’m so confused
@saleena, I seriously suggest switching doctors until you can find one with another plan. Cereal and Zantac both come with their issues but there are still other options. If he’s drinking breast milk, have you tried to cut out dairy yet? That helps some babies. Also broccoli and other gassy foods can cause reflux. Or if she’s drinking formula at all, switching to a more sensitive type is an option. Or have you tried switching bottles to one with a vent? Tommee tippees helped my LO. She was fed both breast milk and formula and did significantly better once I switched to those bottles.. So sorry you’re going through these issues. I’m sure it’s very difficult to deal with.

ANOTHER FAKE! Used @jamiechantelle_7x, picture then changed it when I tagged her her user name is @beas

My August baby decided she wanted to be a May baby like her big sister. Madison Noelle was born on Tuesday, May 24 at 3:50pm, weighing 2lbs, 13oz and 14". She was born at 27 weeks and has a long road ahead of her. Every day she has been getting stronger and amazing everyone. Please keep us in your prayers, my family and I have a long road ahead of us. Congratulations to everyone and I wish you all wonderful pregnancies and deliveries! ??❤️
Poorly girl ?
My bubba has been admited to hospital ? they have upted her heart medication and have inserted a feeding tube it's horrible she hates it!! As much as my oh has been driving mad i don't want him to leave us here tonight! ?
My pediatrician only suggested rice cereal as a last resource, but we never used it, my son was on Zantac three times a day, I don’t understand why they don’t want to prescribe your daughter medicine. What is their reason? I agree with one of the previous posters try to see a specialist then.
