So here's the thing, I got lucky not ending up pregnant after Henry until we actual started trying. We were successful with the pull out method for two years. After this baby I think I might want to get on something just to help with period pain, mine are normally horrible and I get pretty sick. But here's the catch, I have a history of blood clots. I'm always seeing on adds that most birth control implants, patches, etc have that warning that you shouldn't use it if you have a history of blood clots or blood clotting disorder. Do any of you know what is safe for me? I'll ask my doctor further down the line closer to birth too, I just wanted to know if any other ladies have experiences with this.

They have non hormonal iuds. I don't know if it's the hormones specifically that risk blood issues but worth researching

I have blood clots and the only bc options I have is the paragard or the mini pill.

Wow freaky because they just put an IUD in me and I'm ate up with blood clots. It's called Liletta now I want to get it removed. Whoa it's been in 2 1/2 weeks anr I've developed post pregnancy hypertension... Wonder if it's related

I'd definitely be asking my doctor about that. I always hear on the adds "do not take if you have a history of blood clots." Or "so and so may not be for you if you have blood clots, etc,etc

let me know what they say! I'm pretty curious about it, I've never been on birth control other than condoms just to be safe. Hope everything is alright!
