Ideally it won't, but chances are it will be painful at first. Getting the latch right is so important and can really help ease the discomfort. Keep your LC on hand and don't feel bad to ask her to come into your room to help as many times as you need until you get it right. The soreness will go away soon enough!
The 1st few days yes your nipples are going to hurt as they get use to the baby nursing. For me it's usually less than a week. Make sure to use nipple butter it's a life saver.

Remember it’s also new for your baby and also their mouth is tiny which can make it harder to properly latch . My baby had that issue and I used a nipple shield. Super cheap and helped her latch. She’s 4 months now and doesn’t need it anymore. The nurses at my hospital were trained very well and were able to teach me a lot about breastfeeding, pumping, latching, positioning, etc. They’re there to help so don’t be afraid to ask.
The baby latching shouldn't be painful. If it is talk with the lactation consultant and they should be able to help you. For me let down is always uncomfortable. Like someone rubbing salt in an open wound. But I have never experienced cracked, chapped or bleeding nipples. My little guy had a bad latch the other day and left bruises which sucked for a few days. I did the class before my first was born and honestly I couldn't remember anything. But the nurses and lactation consultant werr fantastic! I never would have figured it out without them. Ask lots of questions and don't be afraid to tell them if you don't get something.

It can. Latch is important. You go from not using your nipples to using them every two hours for 45mins (rough estimate).
