Hi everyone, i had my second midwife app yesterday and she had my blood results back with my blood group etc, and she said i have antibodies in my blood so i have to have my bloods took every 4 weeks untill im 28 weeks and every 2 weeks there after untill i delivered the baby, then they will take blood from the babies cord and maybe some further tests on the baby, as the baby may have jaundice has any1 else had this? The midwife said there isnt anything to be worried about but i decided to look on google and it says it cause brain defects etc so im a bit worried now. X

The chances of jaundice giving your baby brain defects are next to none. Most babies get jaundice, it's overly common. Goes away on its own pretty quickly tbh. I wouldn't worry

Oh thats good then, ive been stressing on it since my midwife said. She also said it was common but none of my other 3 never had it so i dont no much about it x

I had antibodies with my daughter. They check the blood of the baby to see if the antibodies pass over to the baby during pregnancy. Mine just disappeared. I no longer had them and neither did my daughter. She is perfectly healthy, she did have mild jaundice for about a week but that is quite common in alot of babies xx
