My 18 month old son is getting blood drawn today and I'm literally freaking out !
Did anyone else's LO have to go threw this ?
What are some helpful tips to get threw this ?
How can I prepare my child ?

I just went through this about a month ago. It wasn’t bad at all. My daughter was angry about me restraining her but didn’t even react to the needle going into her arm. IIRC, they only took like 2 tubes of blood.

It's literally the same as you getting blood drawn. Takes less than a minute and the only part that hurts is when they initially put the needle in.

Have a snack or his favorite toy handy to help soothe him when they're done.

Stay calm so your baby can stay calm. Hold him down good so the process goes by smoothly and quickly.

It’s the same as when you get one ... nothing to worry about ... your child will go off of you

Well big thing to know is that they will very possibly have you sit them on your lap and hold them down so that they can needle them once

So if your not up to that you might want to take someone that can do it ... also ask for the best person they have that is good at doing it to small children because I can guarantee you that there is one .... I work in a clinic and I see it all the time
