My son is home from school today with stomach issues. He complains of his belly alot lately especially when he has school? Anyone think its possibly anxiety or something could be going on at school for him?
Is he going to the bathroom? My son had to get "regular" before his belly issues stopped. He was holding it because he didn't want to poo at school.
Reassure him he can tell you anything if someone if bothering him at school it's serious and he needs to tell you but for me personally it was every morning so bad I was throwing up every morning
He has e.d.s and wears braces on his legs. He has trouble keeping up with other kids at recess and gym. He wants to do well and tries and people have trouble understanding him. Ive worked with the school on how to talk with him to him and not at him. Ive worked with the school on not enabling him. They are so quick to send hin to the nurse or have me come down to the school. Or give him a break to play xbox yes I said it Xbox. I dont like that. I want him to be pushed but not past his capabilities. I dont want him excused because something is to hard. He needs to learn ways that work for him and the school needs to encourage that or they will set him up for failure. He has trouble with seating and he was no comfortable sitting still was hard because he needs to stretch and readjust because his eds causes pain and muscle tightness they told me he needed to be evaluated for ADHD. Once we got him new seating and 3 chairs to alternate from and the option if standing at his desk or sitting on the floor they saw a huge improvement with him
It could be anxiety. Sit down and have a chat with him about school and how he’s been feeling about it, but don’t put too much pressure on it. If you’re not satisfied with what he’s telling you or feel like there is more to it, request a meeting with his teacher.
@whtngregory, maybe he isn’t being challenged enough and he needs to be in the gifted program! Check into it. If the mess is bothering him, is it possible he has OCD or anything like that?
@queenmeeks at home hes not organized at all Ahaha.but I get anxiety with clutter and messes so maybe hes learning from me. Hes very smart but doesnt apply hin self. He says he doesnt like sitting that long. He struggles with writing because his fingers hyper extend alot and he gets in trouble for writing so slow. I have addressed that. You can not read what he writes unless he takes his time. Hes in a program after school for extra help. The teacher told me he doesnt need extra help because hes actually advanced in what shes providing extra help for. He asked to keep doing the program because the work he was slow at at school he has more time to finish it at the program.
@whtngregory, does he have an IEP? If not, he might need one.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
