Finally had a real conversation about our marriage tonight and confirmed that it’s pretty much over. I’ve been contemplating separation for a while but it’s still killing me inside to hear it out loud from him. I think because there is no real reason. No infidelity or major issues just an unwillingness to make time and put in effort into us. We work opposite shifts to avoid childcare and when we do interact it’s only about the kids or arguing over something pointless. I’ve asked for a while to try and have regular date nights or something but he’s always too tired or busy on his game. And now with me taking the kids majority of the time, he’ll have all that time to put into someone else which is what’s gonna kill me the most. I’m too embarrassed to tell family and friends but I had to get it out somehow

I’m so sorry it’s never easy to admit when it’s over!

I’m so sorry. He won’t try counseling ? You can’t change people and you can wait around if they aren’t willing to change. That’s a tough situation. If you ever need to chat I’m here

I’ve never thought of counseling but I doubt he would go for it. He’s stubborn and no one can tell him he’s wrong. Which is one of the biggest things we argue about. You’re right though, I shouldn’t have to wait for someone to want to be with me. Thank you, I appreciate having someone willing to listen ❤️

What's worse then being alone is being with someone who makes you feel alone. You got this momma you survived without him before and I no you can do it again even if it feels like you can't, give it time you will find someone that makes you feel alive again.

Yes ! I’ll remember this when it gets tough. What makes it worse is we are stuck in a lease for the next 5 months I just want to be able to hurt, heal and learn to be alone already instead of dragging it out.

I'm so sorry. You should not ever have to beg your spouse to see your value... Which I promise, you DO have value. There's no need to feel embarrassed, by the way. He is the one totally unwilling to even put forth the smallest effort. Your demands weren't huge.... Spend more time with me. He couldn't do it. If anything, he should be embarrassed. And you can bet, he will at the very least be filled with regret when he sees that you are strong and able to move on and be happy without him. Make happiness your goal. The rest follows.

Thank you so much for this. It’s hard to see now and probably will be for a while until I get used to being alone. My kids deserve to be in a happy home whether that be a traditional one or not

This hurts my heart for you. My husband and I work opposite shifts as well and have since our daughter was born.. it’s soooo hard on a relationship. We’ve been going to weekly marriage counseling and bi weekly individual since she was born and I feel like we are JUST starting to get back on track with our relationship, because it truly is the first thing to go.
I hope you all can work it out.. I can say from experience that if you choose not to make walking away an option and really focus on self development, it can work!
I will pray for you. Wrapping you in hugs 💗

Thank you so much. I do believe that’s what broke the camels back, not having any real time to spend together. I hope counseling can be an option but we’re both pretty set in our decision now. It still bums me out from time to time but our kids deserve to be in a happy home
