I know half of us end up with stretch marks no matter what, (😢) but what are some of your favorite products to help prevent them?
Bio oil is amazing. I got one stretch mark under my boob where I forgot to use it and once I started using it there I didn’t get any more and that one faded quite a bit
cocoa butter but honestly they're gonna show up! i've came to terms with my stretch marks, and keeping my body moisturized makes me feel a tad better about them.
It’s genetics babe my mom has 7 kids and none and here I am have a month to go and none for me fingers crossed lol but I still put lather with coconut oil good luck and it’s gonna b ok get your tiger stripes girl
It plays a “roll” it’s not completely genetic or inherited. My mother and sister both suffered terribly with them and I have had zero.
It’s based on many factors including skin type, elasticity, and weak collagen.
Elevated levels of a hormone called glucocorticoids during pregnancy and weight gain causes the collagen and elastin fibres to tear when the skin stretches. Weight gain promotes these hormones which in turn causes the stretch marks to occur. Also happens during puberty (hormone surge) as well as in those who body build like my husband.
@michsmith0266, Life brand from the pharmacy! I just poke a hole in the capsule and rub it on lol
Use an oil that that absorbs easily into the skin like jojoba, argan(high in vitamin E), rosehip (my choice), avocado, or olive (may take longer to absorb). Lotions tend to sit on top of the skin and oils like coconut do too. I top my application with burts bees belly butter if im going out and know ill be extra itchy. The purpose is to improve elasticity (drink your fluids) and regeneration of skin cells. It also helps if you apply it right after your shower.
