Moms! What are your thoughts on bringing a 2/3 week old to a family’s Christmas party? I’m nervous because he’s my first (still haven’t gave birth yet). It’s family (cousins + aunts + uncles) so I feel super comfortable with them but also the drive is about 2 hours. Will it be too cold? Too risky? Is he too young to bring out?
I say go for it and just bring hand sanitizer and make sure everyone uses it before they hold him and make sure anyone who is or might be sick stays away.
Do you have one of those fleece covers for the carseat to block out the cold air while outside? It fits snug around the carseat and has a flap that u can lift up and Velcro to the top to hold it up while in the car.
At two weeks old he went to his cousins third birthday party. So, a bunch of kids. We just didn't pass him around, we mostly sat near a corner so he wasn't surrounded, but as long as anyone who touched him washed their hands and no one came sick, it went fine. Just make sure no one is sick, like coughing sick especially.
Bring a bottle of hand sanitizer! I think it’s fun. If you get overwhelmed just pull the I have to go feed baby card. And spend as much time as you want in another room.
As long as he isn't passed around too much I'd say it's fine. Make sure everyone washes their hands if they are going to touch him and call ahead to make sure no one is sick; he will be extra vulnerable to germs being brand new. It isn't too cold if you aren't outside besides getting in and out of the car and he is dressed warm and bundled.
I wouldn’t. Too risky.
