Hes almost 2. He is border collie blue heeler and beagle mix. How would I know if hes capable for either?

I'm nervous because of these seizures and I have a little girl who is almost 2 as well

@dpinkpixie10, you’d have to take him to be evaluated somewhere. I’m in Canada so I’m not sure exactly how or where you would do that in the USA. It’s not cheap tho, I’d look into resources around you it may be possible that with your medical condition you’d be able to receive funding for it or to receive a therapy dog.

@dpinkpixie10, it sounds like you need a service dog, but not all dogs can become a service dog. They go through intense training in order to help their owners. If you have an ESA, they can deny you entry to places. I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful. I’m not sure where/if you can take a dog you have for that type of training. The training can take 1-2 years before they’re ready. I’d look into seeing if you can qualify to have one donated to you. There are programs where people who cannot afford to buy service dogs can get them for free.
