I don’t want my children being raised to believe that the world revolves around them. It’s not healthy. I’m trying to raise humans that can contribute to society in a positive manner. I’m also trying to show them what a healthy marriage looks like. I don’t agree with everything this article states but it makes some good points. If my parents would have always put me first, I would have been a spoiled, selfish brat. Luckily they didn’t and it taught me to be considerate of others.
Im stealing this!! I need to share this with some moms who choose kids over their partners and sleep in same bed and then wonder why their families are falling apart?
Children come first!! Not all kids become selfish spoiled brats. It all depends on how you raise them. That’s just my opinion 🙂 a grown ass man can take care of himself a child cannot.
My child comes first because he is dependent on me. My husband is an independent adult. It doesn't mean I love my child more, but he comes first and that is the same way dh thinks. My relationship is still just as important as the relationship I have with my son though.

My grandmother had 8 children and she told me she would always make her husband a great breakfast first with pancakes, bacon, eggs and sausage. She told me the kids would get oatmeal or cereal after her husband was done eating. I never understood why she did that until I got married. Now I wouldn't go as far as to feed my husband a nice breakfast and give my kids cereal but I do believe your marriage always comes first. There's so much power in a strong marriage.
And you see what happens when you put your kids on a high pedestal. They walk over you and disrespect you. They have to learn to respect and honor you as the parents.
