My sweet baby girl was born Thanksgiving morning at 542 am. I was 34 weeks and had been in a car accident which caused my sack to rupture. I hit my stomach on the steering wheel from the lady rear ending me. We are both fine and home thank God. She had no issues and only had to be in the NICU for a short time for observation and jaundice. We were in the hospital Wednesday to Monday. I have been told to get a lawyer bc my sack had ruptured. I'm not sure if I should bc I think I was already in labor before she hit me but they could have stopped the labor if she hadn't hit me. Idk. Any advice on what I should do?
Mama, first and foremost praise God you are both okay! Secondly, I would speak to an attorney just in case baby or you have any problems stemming from the accident going forward. That's what car insurance is for. Finding out what your options are doesn't mean you have to take action but not taking action now can come back to bite you later in the event you need to later. Have the doctors warned you of any potential effects stemming from the accident for either if you? Hope all is truly well and that any advice you get going forward will not be needed. Also, needing to seek a claim against someones insurance is nothing personal. You can also put in a claim without legal assistance for your vehicles and medical damages. In this case the car insurance should cover everything since it was induced by the accident. Be civil with the woman there's nothing wrong with that but don't allow your kind heart to keep you from having the bills paid by the person responsible. I've learned the hard way about this. Best of wishes!
It won’t hurt to seek legal advice. Then make a decision on whether or not you wanna move forward.
I would absolutely get a lawyer. You can’t go by what you think could’ve happened. Go by what actually did happen. You had to give birth due to this accident.
Absolutely get a lawyer!
