At what age can toddlers start going to the eye doctor?
His pediatrician gave him an eye exam at his 2 year old and told me to go get his eyes checked out
So I mind as well make both my girls an eye appt pretty much?
My baby boy is 2 and he has an app in 2 weeks
My pediatrician said 4 unless we notice anything before then.
Oh okay well my daughter coming up on her eye exam then she will be 4 in March
Right I was just wondering because I noticed my daughter has a lazy eye she gets it from my side of the family I have a lazy eye to but I can control it. But I notice with her when she stares off her eye will drift off im like aaww poor thing I done cursed my baby she probably gone have to wear glasses like me 😔
I took my daughter at 2 but I am almost completely blind so she has to get check ups to make sure she doesn’t have my eye disease but two is fine to take them
Girl same here I cant see at all I been wearing glasses since the 2nd grade and I think my daughter is going to take after me with the horrible vision 😭😭
@proudmommyoftwo_, if you are concerned I would definitely take her even if it was just for reassurance you can call what ever eye dr you want to go to and ask what age they start seeing children
My eye doctor said before they start school. So that way they are old enough to be able to cooperate for through the exam
Ask tour ped for a referral to the opthalmologist and your insurance will pay. That's the eye specialist not just your standard eye exam doctor. The testing is different and doesn't require baby to know anything. They will take measurements, look in the eyes and read the eyes for abnormalities such as astigmatism. That's what they did for mine anyway.
