So on Monday my daughter threw a fit and didn’t want to go to school, Tuesday she literally had a panic attack on the bus. She skipped yesterday because she couldn’t sleep that night. Well last night she went to sleep at 8:30 because we felt she was throwing fits because she was tired and not getting enough sleep. She woke up excited about school and the bus. But when the bus arrived she threw another fit. So I’m convinced it’s the bus she doesn’t like 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

How old is she? If she’s really young then it could just be the act of leaving you as opposed to something happening on the bus. Is there a bus aide? I would start by asking them or the driver if there are any issues with other kids, but if she’s really young it could be that she’s sad to leave you or scared of the bus ride itself. It’s a very different experience than riding in the car with mom or even riding on public transit or a bus with mom.

Yeah she just turned 3 last week. She sits on the bus with the aide everyday. She says my daughter stops crying by the time they get to the end of our driveway. And when she comes home she’s happy and says she’s had a great day. So like you said I’m thinking it’s more of leaving me and her daddy. Cause she’s never been anywhere without me or him.

@momofkem_sam, yes public schools are horrible that’s why my brother was home schooled all through high school the last time he was bullied was really bad he was in middle school and these boys on the football team started picking on him and this had went on for a few months and he’d tell teachers what was going on but none of the boys got in trouble because they were football players but the bullying kept getting worse and worse and it got so bad that my brother come home with two swollen black eyes and bruises all over him because those boys had pushed him down the stairs and then stomped on him and kicked him so that was the moment my mom said enough and pulled us both out of public school, I was in high school at the time so I wasn’t there to protect my brother like I always have and I just felt awful! @e_elliana408, my mom always taught us to protect each other so it was easy for me to always protect him the same way my big brother and sister protected me but I was also the sassy child so I stood up for myself a lot so I was always fine in school because I would take people’s crap but my little brother was the shy and quiet one so he never stood up for himself no matter how much me and my mom and step dad would tell him to start standing up for himself he just wouldn’t

@e_elliana408, Oh wow that is horrible! Something similar happened to my husbands cousin she was beaten so badly at a different middle school by a girl that she was hospitalized, the girl kept kicking her while she was unconscious but I don’t think the girl got in trouble for it because she’s 14. It’s awful how kids act this way nowadays and think it’s funny and acceptable behavior. If something like that were to ever happen to one of my children I wouldn’t let it go because these kids need to be held accountable for their actions because when they’re in the real world they won’t have their mommy’s and daddy’s there to protect them they will be on their own. That’s one of the lessons I will be teaching my kids that they need to take responsibility for their actions and own up to their wrong doings, and if I ever heard about them bullying someone I would make them publicly apologize to that person, and after school when they got home they’d go straight to doing homework, and then after homework they’d go straight to doing chores, and if I don’t have any chores for them to do then I’d send them to their grandpa’s house because I know their grandpa will have chores for them to do, and I’d make them do that for about 2 or 3 weeks because I don’t play around when it comes to bullying because I’ve seen how badly it can mess a person up, and I won’t let my kids ever mistreat someone like that, and get away with it.

@e_elliana408, I am glad to see that too! I was starting to think I was the only one because I’ve seen so many kids treating people terribly and them watching their parents do the same thing! Most the time that’s where the kids get it from because if they see their parents acting that way then they think it’s acceptable behavior when it’s not. I’m glad someone thinks the same way because kids really need to learn respect and responsibility!

I dropped her off last week for her first day and she was fine. I think it’s more of leaving me and her dad cause they say once she gets to the end of our driveway she’s ok

Aww, I'm so sorry. I agree with the others, maybe she's being picked on and that's how she relates to the school bus. Could you drive her to school instead and see if she's any better? My 4.5 yr old son has a speech delay and this is his 2nd year of prek. I always take him to school myself, instead of allowing him to ride the bus, but that's just bc I'm the overprotective mom. Lol

@momofkem_sam it sounds to me like she has separation anxiety (just like my son). If last week was her first day, I'm sure shell get better and pretty soon she'll just say bye and walk right on in. I know it's hard, believe me, but we're doing what's best for our kids.

@robyn3380, It’s really hard. So many times I’ve wanted to get her off the bus and say ok we’ll try again next year. But you’re right. It’s what’s best for her.

@momofkem_sam i had that thought everyday for the first 3 months of school last year. Everytime the teacher would take his hand to walk into school and he'd cry. It broke my heart to see him like that but unfortunately us mom's have to stay strong.

Sounds like she’s getting bullied by someone in that bus. You should try and talk to her and see if someone is picking on her. You can also try and take her to school.

Personally, I'd be looking more into this, if this was one of my kids. I would instantly assume said child is being picked on.

@amberdaugherty, @wallflowerrose, I never really thought about it cause it’s only her 5th time going to school. And she sits beside the teacher since she’s new. Last week kind of messed her up cause she only went 2 days because of the holiday so she thought that was all she had to do. But I’ll look into it cause she does have a speech problem because she had a cleft lip and I was afraid she’d get picked on about it.

Could it possibly be that someone on the bus is picking on her? My younger brother when he was little hated riding the bus because this boy would pick on him, the boy who was picking on him was the same age as I was at the time but it got so bad that this boy that was picking on my brother got my brother down in one of the bus seats and started choking my brother, and my brother couldn’t breathe I was lucky that I heard a choking sound, and turned around in my seat, and saw the boy choking him, and I grabbed that boy by the back of the collar of his shirt, and pulled him off my brother, and slammed him into the next seat, and grabbed my brother, and checked his throat it was horrifying to see someone do this to my brother just because he wanted the seat he was sitting in so maybe you should ask her if someone is picking on her on the bus just to be on the safe side.

And I’m so sorry that happened to your brother. Kids can be so cruel! And the schools these days don’t do anything until it’s too late

@momofkem_sam, true schools don’t do enough to protect the children who are getting bullied or mistreated by even staff 😔

Is it unheard of that my daughter that turned 4 a month ago is in a size 6 shirt? She can’t fit toddler clothing anymore because she’s so tall.

snarfyk My daughter just turned 2.5 last week and wears a 5T only because of her height. She's
lii94 My boys 2 and fits in boys xsm 😅
momma_of_1 My daughter is too. She’s already 5 years old and is wearing a size 7 or 8.
