So I've been in touch with our gas and electric supplier. And they've just told me that our bill for 22 days will be £100! Are they serious?! Like that's a complete and utter joke! 😡😡

See my house is absolutely tiny and only two bed. And we have the gas on for 1 hour a day and that keeps the house heated till the next day! So how they're saying it's £50 just for gas for 22 days is beyond me 🤷🏻♀️ electric I don't use the lights at all really as they give me headaches. Just have one TV on, 1 console, tree lights at night, kettle and steamer once a day. And things like the fridge. So can't be that much x

I think the warm home discount have ended now i applied for mine in aug and got mine yday my sister tried to apply and there was a dead line for it x

@megan-leigh, call your supplier and ask about it or do search it online and they should accept you straight away, it takes about 2 weeks for it to go onto your metre you can do the same with electric xxx

Mine's a two bed I use less in summer I have just changed company too was hardly using anything before I had Layla but since that I use what I said with kettle sterilized plus do 2 washes a day baths cooker it's non stop in my house I think mine's pretty cheap for how much I have things on use to spend loads more before changed company but if u hardly use it that's expensive hun x
We have 3 bed semi detatched and use roughly £30 a month electric and £40 a month gas in the Winter. But up til August I was only using £10 ish gas a month. Playstation on every day for couple of hours as is the tv of course, lights, microwave and kettle few times a day etc and have heating on 8 times a day for 15 mins at a time (so 2 hours in total). Last year I didn't have cavity wall insulation but had it done afew months ago and you can deffo tell the difference! Xx
See I only live in a tiny 2 bed house🤦🏻♀️ and do washing once a week. Make her bottles and have TV on. So how they can charge me that I'll never know. I've changed now so I know it will be so much less next month xx
@megan-leigh it does seem a bit much if u dont really use it. I get warm home discount from British Gas, I chose to have it on gas xx
Luckily I've changed over and waiting to get smart meters put in! Think it's ridiculous when I barely use anything and it's not even a full month either🤦🏻♀️
Sounds about the same as mine. I use about 20 a week on each (obviously less gas in the summer)

@megan-leigh who's your supplier? I switched about a year ago and I'm spending far less than I was with British gas. My supplier doesn't have a standing charge.. As that's what stings you. Even if you use absolutely nothing you still get charged per day x
@kerryy23 it's SSE but I've moved to economy energy that's why bill is only for 22 days. I'm in shock tbh I'd understand if I had gas on and stuff constantly but I don't. I have the gas on once for an hour maybe a little bit longer that's it. Like how is it that high xx
I use that maybe abit more for both in 3 weeks gas 20-25 a week gas and 15 a week electric depends how much u have heating on ECT x

We pay £82 a month for gas and electricity combined, and somehow managed to rack up a huge credit with OVO! We have a 4 bed townhouse.
Winter months will probably eat up our credit though, our summer gas use is about a tenth of what we use in winter.
