Postpartum insomnia!! Has anyone dealt with it and how to stop it? I’m currently 5mo pp and I can’t seem to go to sleep even though everyone is sleeping. I usually end up falling asleep around 3/4 am and then baby wakes up to eat and goes back to sleep. It’s getting really annoying I’ve been like this for 5 months!!

If you aren't breastfeeding, you can try Sleepytime Extra tea. It has valerian root in it, which is incredibly soothing. It helps me fall into a deeper sleep.

Yes this was me when my daughter was a baby. Everyone was asleep and I’d lay there awake for hours, I’d anticipate her waking up and as soon as I fell asleep she’d wake up 😩 This went on for months. I had to stop sleeping with my husband, he slept in the living room so I could have the bedroom to myself and that helped a little. I had major anxiety and him being there made it worse for some reason.
I saw my OB and he prescribed me adavan to take at night which did help but it’s not a long term solution. So I finally started seeing a therapist that specializes in postpartum support and she helped me sort out my issues and help me relax. It took a few months but it worked. I saw her for about a year then I had to stop because I got a full time job and my insurance changed and couldn’t afford to go anymore.
So if that’s an option for you I’d suggest seeing a therapist. There’s usually an underlying cause for insomnia and they can help find it.
