If i end up going past 3cm dilated with no contractions, do I just wait till I get contractions?? Or go into hospital?
@mom211n11 oh wow!! Okay thank you!! I'm hoping I'll go till 38weeks and he will come on his own, I'm not really wanting to get induced. I didn't know what CM it was where they couldn't give you one anymore. Thank you again!!
I was 5 centimeters going into induction with my oldest. They didn’t admit me before because i wasn’t contracting. You can be dilated for a long time
@duckduckgoose I thought you couldn't get an epidural once you've dilated to a certain point?? If that's true and I dilate to that certain cm and not having contractions and when I finally do go in to labor and they say I can't get one because I'm already past when I can get it im gonna be upset 😭
@dessiboo, pretty sure they do it until you are 9 centimeters. You can be crowning
@kambam I was just wondering. I'd really like to make it to my induction date but she don't think I will
@kambam what happens if I get to 100% effaced with no contractions? Is it the same thing? Just wait till I have bad contractions or water breaks?
Effacement doesn't mean much. Are you already dilated to 3 and worried? Because you will go into labor and you'll know
@kambam I got checked yesterday and I was 80% effaced and alittle over 2cm dilated but she said she might of stretched me to 3cm when she Checked me
@dessiboo hope not. Shouldn't be sticking fingers in there and you would have felt it. Doesn't sound like you'll labor soon so I think you'll be okay
@dessiboo you can get an epidural up til 7 CM I believe. I was a 7 when I had mine with my first. Unless that has changed?? I mean they need to have that option as well in the case for emergency c-sections too. Around 4-5 centimeters you will usually be in active labor. My water broke at 3 CM with my last birth and I was having contractions but they were not regulating due to it being a high leak. Took almost 36 hours (under supervision of my certified nurse midwife) to get contractions regulated. I was at almost 7 CM when I arrived at the birthing center. Usually doctor's say contractions 5 minutes apart, lasting around 1 minute. They will intensify and you will feel the tightening around your back and pelvic area.
