I know how frustrating and upsetting it can get to know that labor isn’t progressing along... I’m 37.4 weeks and I have been dilated 2cm since a week now... I have been having some contractions and this is my first baby so I’m going crazy just to have him out just so that I can see him... I even started crying cuz of the pain and labor still not progressing... lol I even asked the doctors at the hospital if they could do anything to help me move things along... since they said my baby is full term and I’m completely ready... could go into active labor anytime! They just told that it is not recommended and could have risk factors! Honestly, after everything I realized the baby will only come when it’s the right time for labor... I know u r upset but just let it go tbh and just let our body do what’s best for both ourselves and our baby... dw I still know that’s pretty frustrating but it’s not in our hands! I just do the same things that my doctor recommended... lots of walking! I try to keep myself busy and distracted just so that I don’t have to think about the labor not progressing!! I’m just waiting now... to see my beautiful little baby whenever he decides to come out that is! 😁😩🤱🏻 GOOD LUCK! 🤗🤞🏼

I would definitely be listening to @beakymcspence if you are going to post such a question. If her answers don't match what you wanna hear, then call your doctor and ask the same question.

All I wanted to know is if anything helped others and I get attacked and I talked to my doctor this morning she said walk and do squats so I was wondering if anything other then that helped others

Just listen to what your doctor said. Try your best. I know it sucks.

yes I never said that she was but I'm just explaining what my doctor told me and that mine hospital doesn't keep untill ur 5 cm

I was 4.5 cm with my first for 3 weeks. Dilation doesn’t mean anything at that point. Neither does early labor. Them saying they won’t stop it doesn’t mean you should try to progress it and it’s ok to go into labor. Having previous babies at 38 weeks means nothing. If you needed to move things along - your doctor would do it.

And tbh if it was a problem that I would give birth now they would try and stop it not send me home and say see ya later.

Your not in active labour as you said so there’s nothing to stop. I’m unsure why your arguing the point, if you need to be induced they’d do it. They obviously see no reason but you do.

I had a 36 weeker last month who wasn’t breathing on their own. You should cherish everyday your babes inside and make the best as crummy as you feel ❤️
If it was necessary to move things along your care provider would be doing it hun. There’s absolutely no reason to move this along at 36 weeks unless medically necessary.

but with my birth history both my boys water broke and I never knew and my second I was sent home at 8pm only at 2cm and by 6am he was here I almost had him in the car.

Yeah each labour can be different. A lot of hospitals operate on CM regulations and not prior birth history unfortunately. Definitely watch it closely and go back if it progresses.

PS- no woman properly educated in pregnancy and infant development would advise you how to put yourself into active labor

@mamato2girls yea I'm not saying that I'm going to pull my damn baby out I'm trying to be able to sleep and eat beacuse going without eating and sleeping is good for the baby right?.

yes I was for my first and my second I almost didn't make it to the hospital on time and u know I talked to my doctor this morning and she said to walk alot and to do some squats

Keyword *early* Why are you wanting to go into labor at 36 weeks? Just be patient you’re almost there. A pregnancy can last 40 weeks or longer.

@laniejay yes but they aren't going to induce me if I'm already starting I'm just trying to help my body move it along.

A doctor told you to not eat or sleep until the weekend? No doctor is going to tell you to starve and not sleep for days.

. I told them that the contractions are making me sick and I can't drink the said try and relax and try to rest

Yea she told me that it's going to happen and with my history she will see me tonight or tomorrow and I trust what my doctor for all 3 says.
