So when I was little I used to suck my thumb. At age 8 my mom bought me a blanket & I always slept with it & I STILL use it. It’s a queen size blanket, btw. Lol. But 14 years later it is starting to give up on me. So I found it online because the tag never worn out (which is crazy because I washed it A LOT). Anyways, it got here Wednesday & I haven’t been able to sleep because it doesn’t have the same smell or same feeling because I have to use it & wash it a lot to get it like my original one. I know it sounds weird & crazy & some of you might say “you need to grow up”. But my blanket is my security blanket. When my mom & her husband separated & it was hell in the house I would go into my room & wrap myself in it. When I was going through depression I would cuddle up in my blanket. When I was pregnant & felt
Lonely I would wrap myself in it. Like y’all get the point lol it’s MY blanket & very sentimental. But ima lose my mind right now. I need my blanket !

I understand- if I hadn’t had a house fire when I was a freshmen, I’d probably still have my childhood pillow (“knobby pillow”).
All I can recommend is continue sleeping with the new blanket (and old if necessary) and eventually it will feel and smell like the original.

I still have my mom's pillow. She died almost 21 years ago, so it's pretty old. It's no longer white, the stuffing is all bunched, and the cover is threadbare. But I still keep it and love it; when I was pregnant I cuddled with it, and I still bring it out at times.

I have a baby doll. She is silky and soft. I don’t remember who gave her to me, but I have had her for as long as I can remember. I used to rub the fabric between my fingers to fall asleep. I still sleep with her under my pillow every single night. When I have had a shitty day, I just lay there and reach up under my pillow to rub the fabric until I doze off. Works like a charm and brings me instant comfort. Luckily my SO doesn’t mind it at all. I hid it from him the first year we lived together but eventually I didn’t care anymore. He actually made a comment the other day about passing her down to our daughter someday and I was like ummmmmmm fuck no!!! I got so offended. Like, no. She is mine 😂

@modom16, I get especially bad when I have a super silky jacket or something. I just sit there all day rubbing the fabric like a deprived loser 😂 Glad I’m not alone on that one lol My doll looks exactly like this one!! Well, I’m sure she did when I first got her in 1992. Now, she has very little stuffing, is greenish brown and has faint marker stains on her face from 9 year old me giving her makeovers.... 😬😂

yes!! That’s the one I had too but in pink lol its also brown now. My mom actually bought this one for my daughter off eBay because I was so obsessed with mine
I swear it’s therapeutic to rub! My last comforter had a similar texture, it was the best I would even rub my feet in between it 🤣

Ahhhhhh!!! I’m actually so happy right now that you have the same Puffalump doll!! I started out with just the mint green one, but then I started seeing them at Goodwill or other stores and I would beg my mom to buy them. So now I have my original one, 2 pinks and a purple 😂 They really are the silkiest most comforting things. I love them. I actually forgot that I had the other ones until I saw your pink one! Maybe I’ll go dig them out and give one to Aria after all 😂

One of my really good friends has a blanket too, she’s 27, and she’s had the blanket since birth and I think it’s the cutest thing ever. She sleeps with it every night. Even the many times we’ve been on vacation! Not weird at all! Hope you can sleep soon and get your blanket to where it needs to be ❤️

Awwww 🥰 my mom would got my sisters & I attached to a blanket or teddy bear because she refused to give us pacifiers, I don’t know why 🤷🏽♀️ but my husband finds it very weird 😂

Pft I still have my baby blankie and I'll never be sorry 🤷♀️😂 may have some tips but as long as it hasnt given up on me I wont give up on it. Nothing wrong with comfort items 💕

I know right ! My husband finds it so weird lol but he deals with it. Only reason I got another one is because he kept complaining that it isn’t “soft” anymore 😂
