Finally got an ultrasound scheduled! Not with my OB but another place that will do it free since my doctor refuses one to confirm number of weeks or to make sure it's a healthy pregnancy so far. My insurance covers it, but he won't order one. One of the nurses referred me to a place that will do a dating ultrasound and check the health of the pregnancy after I called a third time and now he says he won't see me till 12 weeks or later. Definitely going to be looking at a new OB, this stuff is ridiculous. Especially since I had a previous high risk pregnancy with my son. 🙄. Anyways. What can I expect at a 9 week ultrasound? I can't remember what it was like with my son. Our insurance didn't cover one till 12 weeks with him. Though I DID get to actually see my doctor at 5 weeks to confirm pregnancy with a blood test.

That’s horrible , look for a new one . You supposed to have one to confirm and get an estimated age

@leeoshee I had early diagnosed gestational diabetes and IUGR(intrauterine growth restriction. Baby didn't grow at a normal rate, was measuring 4-6 weeks behind schedule from 20weeks on. Completely unexplained). Also blood clots in my legs with that pregnancy as well found at 28 weeks. There's a high risk for the gestational diabetes and blood clots to be an issue again. And with the IUGR we aren't sure if it's a genetic thing, but my last doctor did say that it could be a concern with future pregnancies as well.

@leeoshee I thought they'd at least want to see me before 10 weeks just to ensure everything looked fine. But I'm getting the sense my doctor isn't a fan of younger mother's. Said I wasnt old enough to warrant any concerns that things might not be going smoothly, regardless of my history. And that it was a waste of time to have an earlier appointment. He was also very snotty on the phone when the nurse had him call to talk about my previous high risk pregnancy

That’s how my Ob was with my first and the day before my first ultrasound I had bleeding and cramping. Er said I was fine but to keep my appt . Went and there was no heart beat didn’t do blood work even til 2 days prior

That's so dumb I'm sorry that happened. I'm very anxious to make sure everything is alright. I still have on and off cramping so I've been a little worried.

@rariszoo, yeah it made me super paranoid my whole pregnancy the second time . I literally had no hope til he was born cause I was so scared . I’m glad you’re going somewhere else !

Luckily a nurse didn't feel right about what he wanted to do and referred me to this place that will do an ultrasound for me while I'm going through finding a new doctor. Thank God for people like her who actually have some compassion for other people.

I'm high risk as well and 12wks today. I had ultrasound at 6wks, 8wks, 10wks and have another scheduled for Wednesday. I know the weeks draggggg on when you're waiting for an ultrasound, hopefully you can get one sooner 💕

He won't even see me to confirm if I'm high risk again this time or if im at any risk to become high risk. It's super frustrating. My doctor back in KY said he wanted me back in before 10 weeks to monitor blood sugar levels earlier on since I had to take insulin injections last time. But we moved up to MI hence the new doctor.
