Question! If I'm just ovulating today and my period is supposed to be due January 4th. Will I have my period on time?

Quick question... I'm 15 weeks and I'm getting my first ultrasound on the 4th of Aug. Would they be able to see gender or is that a completely different ultrasound appt?
