Does anyone have any experiences with the non hormonal IUD they can share with me? I asked to get my tubes tied after this baby is born but I'm having second thoughts. I'm 100% done having babies after this.
I've had the Marina IUD and it was AWFUL. I had so many side effects that all went away after I got it removed. The pill works great for me but since I know I'm done having kids I don't want to have to remember to take it for the next 20 years.
So basically it's either this non hormonal IUD or stick with my original plan and get my tubes tied (my husband won't get a vasectomy. I've asked a bunch of times)

I had considered this as well. But I’ve seen and heard horrific stories where the IUD navigated into the uterine cavity that required surgery and or the person still got pregnant. So for that reason, I had my tubes tied during my section.

Yeah I've heard bad things about everything and that's why I would LOVE for my husband to take one for the team and get a vasectomy but he won't 😭. I'm going to be having a c section too so I know I have until April 11 to make up my mind lol

Would like to hear more opinions too, i doubt because a friend of mine got pregnant with IUD.

It happens BUT it also can happen after getting your tubes tied (my friends mom had 3 more kids after getting her tubes tied) but it's a small chance!

If you don't plan on breast feeding I suggest looking into the nuvaring. It can't move get lost or get stuck you keep it in for 3 weeks take it out week 4 put a new on back in after your period. You can take it out for 2 hours to have sex if you choose or you can leave it in

Paragard is non hormonal so it wouldn’t affect the breastfeeding, but isn’t nuva ring hormonal???

yes which is why I said if you don't plan on breast feeding look into nuvaring.

@sleepymommy, I do plan on breastfeeding but it may be an option for later!

I loved my paragard, never had issues. I thought i had cramps with it but when i took it out i still had cramps lol. Nothing changed for me I didn’t even know it was there. Unlike hormonal BC. 😱

Thank you! How long did you have it in for?

@faithhopelove, i didn’t have it for more then 2 years at a time, I usually kept it in for about a year and a half then took it out to get pregnant. I had it in between all my pregnancies. I did ended up pregnant on it but i had bad infection which made it move out of place, and I didn’t check strings. But i also got pregnant on depo shot.

I'm interested in hearing opinions too. I'm planning on getting the Paraguard on Friday. I had a vaginal birth and the hospital wouldn't tie my tubes unless I had a c section. Otherwise I would have gotten my tubes tied.
Amy A··
Yeah I'm having a c section so they're more than happy to tie mine I'm just really nervous to do something not easily reversed or cheap to undo lol.

I don’t know the name my sister IUD, she got the one that last for 10years and not once she ever had a problem with it.
