So we decided to name our second son Mason Carter a while ago. Now I’m seeing people that are pregnant and are also naming their son Mason EVERYWHERE (not saying they stole the name from me at all) and it really makes me want to change his name.... buuuuuut.... we’ve already had family order things with his name or initials monogrammed on things so I feel stuck. 🤦🏻♀️
Agree. You’ll notice the name
More just because you are using it. If you switch to another name, you’ll probably experience the same thing! I thought I was being sort of unique when I named my daughter Maya and now I see mayas everywhere we go. Same with this one... I won’t say her name but I thought it was pretty uncommon and I’ve seen it pop up several times spelled the same way. If you love the name then stick with it but if not, change it. Just be prepared that you will probably notice the same thing with whatever name you go with unless you make it up completely lol
@tacos4lyfe I've seen 2 mom's on this app that live in 2 completely different states and their daughters have the same exact name spelling and all the name its pretty and unique one mom was open about her name the other mom wasn't till someone asked and she said her and her husband came up with it. That just goes to show how common names are and unless you come up with something 100% from your brain someone is always gonna have the same name aha
I almost named my son Mason Carter, no lie. He was born in January and a week before he was born, I had a dream that I named him something different during birth and so I changed his name to Wyatt Andrew. I wasn’t sold on the name Mason.
That’s so crazy because I’m due January 8th ☺️ I love the name and it’s literally the only name that has really stuck with me since I found out I was having another boy. But now I’m having second thoughts because there are so many others that are gonna name their boys Mason!
@tylersmommy11116, if you love it I think that’s all that matters! I was due on the 15th and had him the 16th ❤️ so crazy!
If it’s just the initials, you could always change the name to something with MC.
If you're not in love with the name anymore change it. It was really thoughtful of people to get things with babies name on it but truth is you might give birth and go Oh no! Not at all a so and so! And change it at birth. We loved the name Olivia for a girl when we first started trying. And we said a girl would be Olivia. Well we've never had a girl and it became so popular that both of us were like we are never going to use Olivia! We've got a Jensen, Kallan and Declan.
I did the same thing with having things that were made by family members with my daughter's name or initials on it. Everyone was very understanding when we told them and everything was able to be fixed. Things ordered weren't hard to return and then just reordered new ones.
A name is a name aha its like a car you don't notice the car you want on the street till you get it then you see your car everywhere. Mason and Carter are both popular names there's probably a million in the world. If you love the name keep it if you decide to change it I'm sure you will see the new name everywhere. I didn't realize how many people I know or associate with named their daughter Taylor until I named my daughter.
