I plan on formula feeding but at my 34wk midwife appt she told me I should consider first feed from myself as that's what they prefer?! When I had my daughter there was no opinions etc on what should be done.
Anyone else formula feeding but planning first feed from yourself?
Midwife said this but felt like they'd think bad of me if I don't. I expressed for my 1st but she was premature over 12yrs ago and I was so pressured for that. 2nd I tried breast feeding but she was having non of it
This time I just feel bottle will be better x
They are not allowed to say that it is up to you how you want to feed your baby! X
I know they have reasons for “preferring” it but it’s upto you
I breastfed for 3 days before going to formula. They prefer first feed from breast so baby gets colostrum and it will help soothe and bond skin to skin xx
I’ve breastfed all of mine but I am planning on formula feeding this baby just for the sake of my sanity. I will try and combo feed for the first 2 weeks though x
Hey girlies! I plan on breast feeding my LO as much as I can. I also plan to formula feed when needed. Have any of you moms tried organic formulas? How was it? Experience?
Ladies I need your help! I’m planning on giving baby her first feed from the breast so she gets all my colostrum but after I’m using formula. Did you mummies that formula feed take the ready made bottles with teats to the hospital in case you had to stay in?
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Lady at WIC making me feel bad cause I want to formula feed & breast feed my baby, like it isn't my fault my chubby bunny eats 2x what I produce, & I refuse to let my child starve so yes I will formula feed him. 👀😒
They prefer the first feed to be from you because your colostrum has a lot of health benefits for the baby, it also helps to sooth baby after birth and it encourages skin to skin and helps with bond between you and baby. I was planning on formula feeding but after that first feed I decided to carry on breastfeeding but I know plenty of women who have fed for the first couple of days or just done the first few feeds in hospital and then switched to formula. You'll have no issue switching. I'd just go with what feels best for you :)
