When we were looking for some old pictures of grandpa for his funeral, we found some letters he wrote to my grandma when they were dating. His handwriting was beautiful and when I saw the signature I knew it was a perfect (and cute) way to honor him. He used to tease me and say “Breanna, your tattoos make you look like you belong in prison.” I’d always laugh and tell him “yeah, keep it up with your smart mouth and I will be.” 😂😂 I bet he never imagined one day I would have one in his honor.

I miss joking around with you grandpa. 🖤 I hope you were watching and joking to James about getting yet another tattoo.

*** Another little quirk about this tattoo is I HAD to put it on the same arm as my tattoo for James. I couldn’t separate them again (James was the closest to grandpa for the longest time). I just couldn’t. And I also made it to where the tattoos were “facing” each other. Symbolically it’s like they won’t have to be separated again and could be able to see each other once again. I know I probably sound so strange with my refusal to put grandpas signature on a different arm for that reason but I couldn’t bring myself to do it.
