My daughter Emma got her finger caught in the washer lid by her sister about a week ago and her nail is coming off, I’ve been trying to clip it down as it pulls off but she keeps messing with it and pulling on it. My question is how long will it take to grow back? I used to do this same thing a lot as a kid but my whole nail has never came off just part of it.

Her hands are dirty from school today I am going to clean her finger up and wrap it again, she just won’t keep a bandaid on it.

When I lost a nail around 5 it took about a month to grow back I believe

I would wash it as often as I can and let it breathe.. a bandaid won’t let oxygen in and around the area and the wound could get smelly and infected. Just do you best to watch her and tell her to not touch it.. it’s a learning experience I use to go through with my little cousins years ago. But it’s better that way
