I know it’s passed Halloween and all but I just have to say the main reason I will always give candy to teenagers or adults on Halloween (bonus points if dressed up), is because this year as my daughter went house to house with her dad both dressed up I watched as confusion crossed her face when people didn’t give her dad candy too. She would ask about daddy’s piece of candy every time they’d begin to walk away and he didn’t get a piece. It tore me up and I couldn’t imagine allowing another mother to be tore up by it either, because how do you explain to a 2-4 yr old that it’s a holiday ONLY for kids?
I don’t know food for thought I guess. 🤷🏼♀️😅

That is absolutely AWFUL. My son is all about his dad and on Halloween daddy took him up to the doors and helped him get his candy and Noah would reach in his bag and give a piece to his dad and take a piece for himself. Like he didn’t understand but he understands sharing and he wanted daddy to have candy. Like I can totally see the same thing happening when he’s older and then we have to tell him and make him upset

She definitely didn’t notice the first year she went trick or treating but this year she did. Every time I think about it, it makes my heart sink a little.
