Anyone know if taking antibiotics for mastitis can tank your supply?? He has not been satisfied all day and I took some out of my stash to feed him and he ate 4oz :/ so im pumping after he eats and I get a few drops so I’m literally empty! I also pump in the morning and once at night since he sleeps through the night and get about 16-20oz during the night one and 8-10oz isn’t he morning but at night time I got 6oz and this morning I got 5oz...then I continued pumping every three hours while giving him a bottle with frozen milk to see what’s up and I would get maybe 2-3oz each pump session...now I have him latched and he is mad and fussy :( I always had an amazing supply!! 😭

I just took antibiotics for mastitis and my supply seems to finally be regulating properly. I was way overproducing before and now I don't have to pump near as much. My son doesn't seem fussy though but I also don't want to pump so I don't pump unless I absolutely have too. Are you trying to build up a big stash? I would say to increase your fluid intake and add some more protein to your diet and it should go back up to where it was. You make as much as your body thinks you need, I would just recommend you feed baby until full before you pump and make sure you pump until you're completely empty. Did your mastitis clear up yet?

nope not even cluster feeding! And I use my haaka every feeding and I use to fill the sucker up and now I get onky drops so even my let down is down to nothing! I finally pumped 2oz total between both boobs tonight so hoping it’s coming back up and maybe slowed down to get this clogged clear? Read that it’s a thing! And yeah I waited too long and been like this for 4 days now hopefully tomorrow I feel better! With my first I had mastitis for ) weeks straight and they had to cut open a duct and drain the pus out it was so bad 😭 so I try to watch it as much as possible but I didn’t even see this one coming! I didn’t feel a clogged duct or anything then bam! Huge and I mean huge clogged duct and redness that was on fire!

awe it hurts me just to read that 😓 you must have been in so much pain! it makes sense that it would try and slow things up until the blockage clears and you seem like you're really on top of it. I think your supply should come back as long as you don't give up. I read somewhere that pumping isn't near as effective as a baby when it comes to getting milk out so what your pump gets out doesn't mean that's all the milk you have in there which is always good to keep at the back of your mind while pumping. I've had that sinking feeling after pumping for a good while and only getting an ounce or two out as well 😔 Keep working at it, you're really strong and doing awesome 😀

awe thank you so much I appreciate that! And I heard that too and will throw him on after I pump but he gets too mad because he has to work a little harder for the milk😂
