Okay so I'm not trying to offend anyone but I don't understand the concept of "stay at home mom" if the children are school aged (and not home schooled)....like what do they do ? I'm seriously asking
I only had 1 year to myself with the kids in school but I still cleaned the house ( and it actually stayed clean) and ran errands and to the grocery store and every day things that way when they got home from school the afternoon was dedicated to them.
I had a live in nanny growing up from when i was a baby till i was 10. She took care of the house, me, the cooking, cleaning, yardwork, laundry, and whatever else everyone needed for her to do. Everytime i came home, she had to tend to me as well as still carrying on on the things she was suppsed to do that day. My family depended on her a lot! She did not have time to date. She did not see her family and friends often. We were practically her family. She was very well compensated for all the work and dedication she did show our family. She came with us to trips, and it was paid for. She also recieved gifts for her and her family. &’ We also heped her family when they really needed it. Im assuming its the same for SAHM except they dont get paid. Im sure some dont even truly get awknowledge for all the work they do.
Basically the same thing as a housewife. Just with kids thrown into mix. PTA, after school activities. It's a hard job! And any chance I get to go to the grocery store alone, or shopping of any kind by myself, I'm gonna jump on it like white on rice! A chance for 8 hours a day BY MYSELF sounds miraculous!
Seems like a lot of free time to me, but that may just be because I don't have ANY free time right now. I stay home with 2 toddlers and do all the cooking, cleaning, shopping, etc
@angylynn22 I'm at home with a 2 year old and a one year old. I don't get free time now, so it seems like a well deserved break.
@mississippi.queen yea same I have a 2 year old and 1 year old and get everything done WITH them home. That's why it seems to me that when they go to school, I'll get things done faster and have loads of free time.
@angylynn22 if only. I have 4 kids and a husband, bored isnt an option. I constantly trying to keep up with the needs and wants of everyone. I have from 6am to 3pm to get everything prepared to be destroyed once more. Lol
@witchy_momx4 I just can't imagine what I'd do every day....maybe it'll be different when my kids get older
@angylynn22 yeah, Right now, your toddlers are on your schedule, wait until they are both on their own and you gotta keep up with both.
Help kids w homework’s, their activities , cook, clean, keep bills in order, so much stuff
But what about throughout the day while they're at school. You don't get bored?
@angylynn22, boredom has nothing to do with it. Being a stay at home mom is so much more. You’re there for ur children when they need you. When they aren’t home I clean prepare meals wash their clothes. It’s apart of taking care of your kids. They don’t have to be there with you for you to be taking care of them. There’s so much that goes into a kid. Like then getting sick. Doctors appointments. Etc.
@brittanyzeigler21 I stay home now with toddlers and do those things so I understand that. Ig if boredom is not a factor for you, then that works. For me, it is. I'm only asking these things bc I'm trying to decide if I'll continue to stay home when they go to school
Guess keep the house cleaner...lol. I've been one for 8 yrs. When my baby goes in a few yrs I will still stay home. That way I can be at the school of needed. Plus all the dr appts my oldest son has.
The last part I get. I already keep the house pretty clean but I could use an extra hour a day or one free day a week and itd be spotless. Lol
@angylynn22 I clean every night just for my kids to have it messed up by 9...lol

I'm so used to do all that with them anyway, I feel like I would get it done in a day or 2 then have nothing to do. Or maybe I just don't have enough errands. Lol
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
