Y’all I’m kinda freaking out... yesterday we took the baby to be seen because she was developing a yucky cough, sneezing and a stuffy nose. They told us to get a cool mist humidifier and give her saline drops & suck out her nose, we did... but her cough is becoming more consistent and it’s sounding more barking and mucousy. This isn’t normal for just regular “allergies” is it?? It’s so hard to tell in a baby. I’m most likely taking her back in, I just wanted to get opinions.

I would call and let them know. A cough seems to get worse before if gets better.

Any fever? I would watch her breathing. Probably just a cold, but if you think the cough sounds like a seal, could go into croup.

I would take her back and have them test her for rsv. It can get very bad quickly. Watch her breathing to see if she’s breathing more rapidly and/or sucking in under her ribs or in the spot between her collarbones. My daughter had rsv as an infant and it was scary. I hope she feels better soon!
