When I applied for my job ( medical records/billing) they did a credit check because I would be dealing with a high volume of money. And I guess they think if you can’t handle your own money how will you handle there’s.

I’d disclose that then. I don’t see how it could make the situation worse by telling them. If you have a plan implemented on taking care of it. Then let them know. Show responsibility.
