@mrs.a They gave me IV antibiotics during labor and a dose after my babies were born. They have never mentioned a colonoscopy.

@catfish2220, okay thank you, I really thought it was weird that they brought that up. I tested negative for it while pregnant but somewhere between 35 weeks and delivery I developed it and they didn’t know so I had my baby and was never given antibiotics until the infection spread to my blood and made me sick. It was so scary because the baby was never treated for it.

@mrs.a That's terrible! I didn't know a colonoscopy is something they did for that. They told me if I didn't get the antibiotics it could be passed on to baby and that was why it was so important to have the antibiotics during labor. Maybe they didn't mention the colonoscopy because they caught it before labor.

Girl I hope you don’t have to have one, I am currently prepping for one tomorrow! It’s miserable. Not due to pregnancy related things

@penelope127, @flamingomom, I tested negative during pregnancy but then must have developed it because I had it after delivery and it made me very sick because they didn’t know I had it. Now doctor is recommending a colonoscopy and I’m not exactly sure why. I have never heard of anyone needing one because of testing positive for group b strep. It doesn’t make any sense to me. 🤔

@mrs.a, if you don’t find out anything here, I would be interested to hear the drs reasoning next week.

@penelope127, yes, I’ll definitely keep you updated. I really think I’m going to refuse it if there isn’t a real reason for it.

Oh okay that’s a strange situation given it’s normally part of our flora. Idk how it turned opportunistic with you. Good luck with everything
