What do you guys do when your picky toddler doesn't eat dinner, give them something different or wait until they're hungry???
If I put what she likes, it would be chicken nuggets, hotdogs and broccoli all the time 😂😂
@apples, what I mean is I'd put something she definitely likes as a side if I wasn't sure or knew she didn't like what I was making as a main. But still also give that main regardless to encourage them to try it. My oldest wanted to try broccoli after she saw a pinkalicious episode where the girl eats it. Daniel Tiger has an episode geared towards trying new foods and a "you have to try new food cause it might taste good" song (that my 3yo likes to remind everyone of). Muppet babies has one as well.
It depends. Do they have a texture issue (my 6 year old)?
Or is it because they flat put don't wanna try it or filled up on snacks?
My 6 year old gets an "altered" version of whatever we ate if it has ground beef.
@apples
Is it certain things at lunch or dinner?
Have you tried quesidillas?
They are quick and easy to make and alot of times was my go to for my oldest.

Also some kids are just "snackers".
Once again , my oldest , I would offer her healthy snacks.
Whole milk yogurt, fruit , cheese, peanut butter. Thing like that. She also loved veggies 🤷
@nerdymommyplus2 it all depends on her mood, one minute she like stuff, the next she dont
Limit snacks...that my biggest thing, my son is always snacking and never wants to eat a real meal but when I don’t let him snack and he gets hungry he will pretty much eat anything in front of him. I’ve also noticed he eats better if we all eat together and he eats what we are eating.
I watched my boyfriends cousin for a week (he was two ) and he was the same and still on a bottle . He didn’t eat dinner and the next day ate everything I made him and was off the bottle . Cause he knew I wouldn’t give in. Try to bribe with a desert they might like . Start little . I wouldn’t have let him miss more than one meal though . Try to make it fun!
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...

I put things on her plate but I always make sure to put something she definitely likes. I'm not going to force my child to eat something they genuinely don't like, same as I wouldn't. It's there if she wants to try it but I'm not going to make it a fight. Most of the time she'll take a bite and if she doesn't like it thats ok.
My parents did the "you eat this or starve" thing. Starved most the time and it made me an absolutely terrible eater. I dreaded meal time and didn't eat anything new. Tried a lot of things for the first time as an adult but I'd still rather not.
