So mamas , tell me what y’all think about this.

So my brother in law , is moving in with us . He recently had his daughter she’s 4 days older then my son. The reason in why moving in with us is because my husband got him a job with him , and he has NO CAR, lives almost an hour away, & his 17 years old. OK BUTTTTT, his girl and baby isn’t coming to live with us , she’s staying with her mom , plus she starts school soon. BUT now his mother in law wants him to still PAY RENT 😒 & plus give his girlfriend money for her and the baby needs . Which I totally understand the needs for the baby and her girl . BUT rent ? I find it ridiculous because I’m the one going to clean his clothes , make him food, etc! plus his mother in law quit her job to help her daughter take care of the baby which I find it dumb. Because now she’s depending on a 17 year old to pay everything at the house . So what’s y’all intake in this SITUATION? 🧐

Sounds like the mother in law is trying to use him. If he isn’t living there why should he have to pay rent? As long as he provides the baby with everything the child needs he should be good. And secondly, I understand the baby mama is about to start school. But why can’t she get a part time job?

@bkrysxo, yeah that’s what I told my BIL, and I told his girl friend in front of her that , that shit is stupid . How the hell is he going to pay rent if his living with us not living over there... but let’s see what happens when he gets his first paycheck . I’m gonna step in and tell his MIL some shit !

Oh no, no, no. His responsibility is providing for his child's needs. Not his mother in law. He should absolutely not be paying rent and they can't make him. He doesn't live there. I see child support issues in his future when the mil doesn't think he's giving enough no matter how much he sends.

I completely get giving money for the baby's needs, but not paying rent for somewhere he isn't living. I kinda feel like he should buy things for the baby and drop off physical items like diapers and food, not just hand over cash because I get the feeling that he shouldn't trust the the grandmother with the cash. It's totally shortsighted and impulsive of her to flat out quit her job.
