Yeah I never had the little book either if you did it the right way I’d honestly call the number on the back of the box to get a new one hahaha I’m cheap like that.
The easiest way to do it is to pee in a cup and dip the stick in until it starts going. Then put the cap back on. How I’ve always done it and never got an error or false reading
