Any recommendations on security cameras? I want a couple that I can link to my phone so I can see what’s going on while I’m gone.

I forget the reason we didn't get Arlo, but I know he wanted a system that recorded to a DVR and not the cloud. He didn't want Nest because the cameras all needed a power cord. Amcrest cameras record at like 2k or 3k, and the quality is amazing. The phone app leaves a bit to be desired, having come from Nest, but it works.
Merkury cameras - I think you can buy at Walmart are great and you can record if need be as you're watching it. It has an app called Geeni I think and it's allows you get notified when their is motion detected and you can change sensitivity for alerts, share the camera viewing with other phones, etc.

The Ring doorbell is a good one for the front door. It has an app you download and will notify you if there’s motion at your front door and you can even watch live from the app.
