So I Told My Baby’s Father When He Was Sending Out The Invitations To Tell His Family To Not Get The Baby Clothes Because I Already Have More Than Enough To Buy Other Essential Stuff Off The Registry. He Said No & That I’ll Sound Rude, But After The Baby Shower & I Went Home & Opened Everything Up All She Got Was Clothes. My Old Co Worker Was The Only One That Got Me Something Useful ( A High Chair) Now He Has To Buy Her A Stroller, Car Seat, Tub, Bottles, Towels, Rags, Bibs, Bath Sets, & ETC

@nisham90 I get it same here. I only got 2 gift cards, all clothes and bottle cleaners, teether and something to protect my car seats when I put the carrier in it. So pathetic
I do see where your partner is coming from, those are very generous gifts you were expecting. We had a gender reveal/ baby celebration at 7 months rather than a traditional babyshower. By this point we’d bought everything we needed except for clothes since we didn’t know the gender. There was no expectation for the guests to buy large items and we received gender neutral clothes, cash and gift cards. A lot of the stuff we wanted were fairly pricey (example we paid £270 for carseat and adapter, (£760 for the bedroom set, £600 for the stroller) so it was unrealistic to expect that from people even if they are family.
Well I Have Most Of The Big Stuff I Need. I Only Need A Stroller/Car Seat The Set I Want Is $129. Which I Will Make Him Buy But Essentials Like Bottles, Rags, Towels, Bath Sets, Bibs, Blankets & ETC Cost The Same As Clothes So I Wasn’t Expecting Anything Over The Top

A baby shower is to help get you the things you need not for everyone to get them for you. With you being 37 weeks your pushing it super close to get all the big stuff. My mil was supposes to get us a crib and travel system(carseat and stroller) and waited 2 days before I was induced to tell me she couldn't get anything so I had to go out and but the first car seat I could afford snd not thr best one smh. But the baby can pretty much come at any time.! I hope you get a carseat soon hun.!

@nisham90 girl I'm the same way.! I ended up with a shitty carseat and stroller instead of the one I wanted listening to her and now my daughter only has her pack n play cause I had a crib that my mil decided to leave behind when we moved and I didn't have a baby shower at all so we have to get EVERYTHING in our own which yes it was hard but I wished she woulda said something sooner so I coulda got what I wanted instead of what the store had so now I have to buy a bigger carseat and new stroller smh.
Same thing happened to me with this baby. Only one person bought off of my registry. Luckily the majority of stuff I had on there was in the $10-20 price range. So I just returned what I could and got what I needed. It’s more frustrating when a gift receipt isn’t included so you don’t know where to return items. I will just donate the stuff I don’t use and can’t return. Grateful for receiving anything but if i can’t use it, someone else can. 😊

I don't understand why people don't go off the registry. I returned so many clothes to just Kohl's we were able to buy our monitor and I still had money left over there.
